Getting Started

 

5.1.

 

Installing the AT5600

 

Place the tester on a suitable work surface in the position where it is to be used. 
Refer to section 2.9, A Typical Installation, for an overview of installation 
requirements. 

Before deciding on the exact location, it may be useful to refer to chapter 6, Safety 
Systems, which describes a safety system to protect operators from the high 
voltages which may be present on the components under test. 

Switch on the supplies to the PC. 

Ensure that the top surface of the tester is not fitted with any test fixture and 
nothing is touching any of the test nodes. Connect the tester's line input to the 
available supply and switch on. 

You must connect the power lead to a socket with a safety ground contact. 

For operation of the AT5600, a safety interlock must be properly connected as 
detailed in chapter 6, Safety Systems. 

For Demo Units; The AT5600 shall indicate how many days the unit will remain 
activated for use on the Touch Panel Display top level menu.

Installing the Windows Software

 

Install the Editor software as in section 14.2

Installing the Editor Software

configure the communications port to control the AT5600 as in section 14.3.3. 
Communication Configuration

Install the Server Software

 

The Server software is normally installed on a different PC from the Editor 
software, The Server PC needs to be permanently connected to the AT5600 to 
download programs to the AT5600 and to save test results. 

Follow the instructions “

Starting for the first time

”, 

in section 15.3.
