Partitioning Cameras to Monitors
The procedure of assigning cameras to monitors is known as partitioning. By default, all cameras are
assigned to all monitors. Video from camera stations may not be displayed on monitors unless the camera
stations are partitioned to those monitors. Monitors are partitioned to keypads as discussed in
Set Keypad
Partitions
on page 18. Keypads may only control a camera station if it has been partitioned to a monitor which
was in turn partitioned to that keypad.
The monitor number is identified in the Cameras For Monitor setting. All 2048 cameras are enabled as default,
which partitions all of them to the specified monitor. Disabling the camera removes it from the partitioning
table for the selected monitor. After defining the partition for the selected monitor, use the Tab key to return to
the Cameras For Monitor setting and select another monitor. Use the Tab key to return to the partitioning table
and continue this process until each monitor’s partitioning table has been defined.

Propagation Delay
In large systems such as the NOVA V1400, propagation delay may result from the numerous card cages and
data cables. Setting the delay allows you to adjust the rate of signal transmission from the video CPU to the
matrix switcher card cages. You may use this feature to correct a switching delay problem, but you must make
the adjustment slowly and carefully until the delay is no longer apparent.
