Programming Quick Setup
XX009 Rev 1099 NOVA V1400
Programming Quick Setup
Perform the following procedure to quickly set up your NOVA V1400 for system programming.
1. Connect the programming keyboard and monitor to the card cage in order to view the menus and make
the choices that will define your operating parameters. With the power turned off, plug an IBM-style
keyboard into the DIN connector on the NOVA V1400 front panel.
2. Also connect a coaxial cable to the BNC connector on the NOVA V1400 rear panel V1400X-SV-M and to
the “IN” BNC connector on a monitor. This monitor will be the programming monitor and will be used to
make the programming choices required to build a customized configuration file for your system. Refer to
Figure 1 for the location of the programming monitor BNC. Refer to the Installation Manual for cable
recommendations and further installation instructions if necessary.
Note: You must connect at least one additional monitor and camera to the system (titler card cage) in order to
edit the title position and size (discussed on page 46), because you will not be able to define the layout
using the programming monitor.

accessing the programming screens. Operators and managers must enter a user ID; administrators must
also enter a passcode. An example screen is shown below.
5. If you mistype the login ID, an error screen will display and you must press Enter to access the login
screen again. Administrators must enter a passcode. As shown below, the passcode will not display as
you type.
