Setup>System>Alarm Filtering
This screen lets you enter infor m ation to identify your site location, address, phone nu m ber, etc. This infor-
m ation appears on the top of m ost inventory and BIR reports. This screen also lets you enter a fax sender
na m e and fax nu m ber when sending faxes.
Header 1 - 4
Touch to enter desired Site Na m e (1),
Street (2), City and State (3) and Phone (4) -
up to 20 characters each header.
Fax S ender Name
Touch to enter data printed at top of trans-
m itted faxes fro m console - up to 30 alpha-
nu m eric characters.
Fax Phone Number
Touch to enter phone nu m ber to which the
console will dial to send faxes - up to 40
digits.
This screen lets you enable/disable Alar m Filtering. Alar m Filtering reduces the total nu m -
ber of alar m s without co m pro m ising the reporting of critical alar m s.
Alarm Filtering
When this feature is enabled, the console m anipulates a co m bination of the detection ti m e
(the ti m e before an alar m sounds) and the clear ti m e (the ti m e before an alar m is reset) for
certain alar m s that often go in and out of an alar m state in a short period of ti m e. In addi-
tion, so m e alar m reports during the clear ti m e are consolidated, reducing their nu m ber
without eli m inating the alar m reports.
Mag Sensors
The following Mag Sensor alar m s will be filtered:
• Mag sensor fault, install and co mm unication alar m s - NOTE:
Mag Sensor alar m s are reset if the Mag Sensor is replaced
or deconfigured and then reconfigured.
Analog Sensors
The following Liquid, Vapor, Groundwater, Type A (2-wire) and
Type B (3-wire) alar
m s will be filtered:
• Open, Short, Water, Water Out, Liquid Warning, Low Liquid,
High Liquid and Fuel - NOTE: Liquid Warning, High Liquid,
Low Liquid and Fuel alar
m s are posted i mm ediately even
when filtered.
DIMs (Dispenser Interface Modules)
The following DIM alar m will be filtered:
• Co mm unication Alar m - NOTE: If there is m ore than one DIM
card in the console, each card is filtered independently. DIM
alar
m filtering takes into account the possibility of lost POS
sales data by m onitoring dispensing during the clear ti m e,
but the possibility exists that the filter m ay not identify all
cases when POS sales data m ay be lost. Unfiltered DIM
Co mm unication Alar m reports are available by contacting
Veeder-Root Technical Support.
