Installation Checklist
The following installation checklist is a brief summary of the steps that you need to complete
for the proper installation of your Surveyor RI Plus Detector:
Unpacking and Inspecting the Detector
Carefully remove the RI detector from the shipping container and inspect both the detector
and the packaging for any signs of damage. If you find any damage, save the shipping
materials and immediately contact the shipping company.
The shipping container should contain the following items:
• Surveyor RI Plus Detector
• Software CD
• Surveyor Plus documentation CD
• Accessory kit
The accessory kit contains the items listed in Table 5 . Carefully check the kit to make sure you
received all the items listed on the packing list. If any items are missing, contact your Thermo
Fisher Scientific representative immediately.

Unpack and inspect your instrument ( page 12 ).

Read the safety notices in the preface of this manual.

Make the initial instrument preparations ( page 14 ).

Loosen the transport screws ( page 13 ).

Make the initial back panel connections ( page 15 ).

Connect the solvent lines ( page 18 ).

Power on the detector for the first time ( page 23 ).
