2-22 TESTER DESCRIPTION
Test Jack Panel—Z1884, Z1866, Z1860-NB, Z1860, Z1850, Z1840, Z1860M,
Z1850M, and Z1840M
The test jack panel, located on the front edge of the tabletop or tabletop extension, contains
10 jacks and 3 LED indicators. The jacks connect operating and grounding cables and
debugging probes to the tester. The LEDs indicate when certain functions are in use. You
can use the Node Probe or the outside of the BNCs for ground reference.
The Z1866 has two test jack panels on the front edge of the tabletop labelled System A and
System B.
WARNING!
When the analog debug light is on, lethal voltages may be present on the test jack panel.

(Yellow banana jack) Provides protection against electrostatic discharge.

2 Node Probe
(Black banana jack) Connects Node Probe to tester ground.
3 DUT 5V Power Green LED indicates when DUT 5V power supply is
on.
4–9 E, F, G Poles
(Tip jacks) E, Es (E sense), F, Fs (F sense), G, and Gs (G sense)
monitor signals during program development. The E, F,
and G analog drive and sense buses are routed to
these six jacks during analog debugging. The same six
jacks are connected to the six digital response buses
during digital debugging.
10 Listen window (BNC) Identifies the measurement interval.
11 Test envelope (BNC) Identifies time interval when stimuli are applied and
measurements are made during in-circuit test.
12 Analog debug Green LED lights up during analog debugging,
indicating possible high voltage on E, F, and G test
jacks.
13 Digital pullups Red LED lights up when built-in termination resistors
are in use.
