DTG5078 & DTG5274 & DTG5334 Data Timing Generator User Manual 2

Connect an SMA coaxial cable from the CH1 connector of the DTGM31
output module to the CH1 input of the sampling oscilloscope.
Connect a second SMA coaxial cable from the CLOCK OUT on the front
(rear) panel of the DTG5334 (DTG5274 or DTG5078) to the Trigger Input
of the sampling oscilloscope.

Power on the DTG5000 Series mainframe and the oscilloscope. Warm up the
mainframe for 20 minutes at the normal operating temperature.
Starting the adjustment
1.
Set the actual parameters (such as Clock Frequency, Output Level) and the
actual data pattern required by your application
to the DTG5000 mainframe.
2.
Push the
RUN
button and
ALL OUTPUTS ON/OFF
button to activate the
output.

NOTE.
In this adjustment, set value of Cross Point in the Timing window to 50%.
During the adjustment, some parameters are changed as follows; Term.R: 50
Ω
,
Term.V: 0 V, Delay: 0 ns, Delay Offset: 0 ns, Jitter Generation Mode: Off. After the
adjustment, these parameters will return to your original settings.
In the case of general adjustment, a useful “typical” pattern is PRBS14, with data
length (block size) set to 65532 (16383
×
4).
The example below shows Dj adjustment for a clock patter because the individual
edges can be easily identified. The adjustment process for PRBS, clock or
user-defined patterns is the same.
