Partial Pattern Jitter
You can apply jitter to any specified section of the pattern. To specify the section
to which jitter is applied (called the Jitter On area), use the pattern data for the
logical channel you specified by Partial By.
Actually, partial pattern jitter is applied using the following procedure internally:
In Channel 1, enter the Channel 1 data from which the data in the Jitter On area
was cut, that is, the Jitter On area data replaced with 0s.
In Channel 2, enter the Jitter On area data that was cut from Channel 1, that is,
all 0 data except the Jitter On area.
Fix the amount of delay of Channel 1 to 0.
To generate jitter, vary the delay of the leading and/or trailing edge of Channel
2 by using the pattern generator, which is controlled with the specified Jitter
Profile (the transition pattern of the amount of delay(s)), Frequency (jitter
frequency), and Amplitude (width of jitter).
Obtain the XOR value of the two signals.

The sections in which jitter is applied are those sections denoted by “Gate on” that
have 1 as the value of the specified logical channel. The NRZ format is used as for
a gate pattern regardless of the specified logic channel. You can set any number of
Jitter On areas.
