DTG5078 & DTG5274 & DTG5334 Data Timing Generator User Manual 2

VXI server control may or may not be running when the DTG5000 starts. If it is
not running, you will see the VXI server control icon as shown above

To run the VXI server control, select the Start button of the VXI-11Server on the
Remote Control dialog box of the System menu of DTG5000 application software,
or on the Remote Control of DTG5000 Configuration Utility. Or right click the
icon and choose “Start VXI Server” command from the context menu.

Start VisaAPIDemo.exe application. This application is available in the
following path

C:\vxipnp\winnt\TekVISA\VISASamples\VisaAPIDemo\Release

You can use the VisaAPIDemo.exe to connect to an instrument and read/write
any GPIB queries and commands.

Alternatively you can use any application that uses TekVisa API to connect to
the instrument. The source code for VisaAPIDemo.exe is also available in the
path

C:\vxipnp\winnt\TekVISA\VISASamples\VisaAPIDemo

, which can

be used as a sample.

2.

Type the following resource string in the Resource Name edit box of the
VisaAPIDemo application.

GPIB8::1::INSTR.

This is the standard resource string to be used when you want to connect to the
instrument from an application running in the instrument. The APIDemo.exe
application appears as shown below after a successful connection.
