GPIB parameters

To use the GPIB, the DTG5000 Series requires you to set a configuration and the
GPIB address.

Talk/Listen:

Select this mode to remotely control your DTG5000 Series from

an external computer as a controller.

Off Bus:

Select this mode to electronically disconnect the DTG5000 series

from the GPIB bus.

Address:

This address is a number that allows the software to identify each

device connected to the GPIB bus. You must specify a unique number from 0
to 30 for each device.

GPIB Driver

Note the following about the GPIB board and driver software.

NOTE.

The DTG5000 Series contains the National Instruments GPIB board and

driver software. They are used to control the DTG5000 Series from the external
controller.

While the DTG5000 software is running, you cannot use any GPIB device in order
to control another external device.

CAUTION.

About the GPIB Driver Version:

The DTG5000 Series are shipped with the Version 1.7 GPIB drivers with the system
operation capabilities that have been confirmed with the test using the drivers.

If you install National Instruments LabView or other software on the DTG5000
Series, this may change the version of the driver of the GPIB board.
If you want to install such software on your DTG5000 Series, skip installation of
the GPIB driver to avoid the overwrite.
