4.2.5 Data saving
Memory type
All available measurement results and settings can be stored in the instrument’s internal memory as files. There
are three types of files that instrument generates and saves in the internal memory: files with results records (so
called logger files), files with wave signal records (so called wave files) and files with settings (so called setup
files). The memory is divided into to two partitions: one partition is reserved for the wave and setup files, another
– for the logger files.
Saving files with measurement results
Logger and wave files are created automatically when the measurement starts and saved after the measurement
stops.
Logger files are always created and saved, but you can switch off wave files creation.
Note: During the measurement run
the “curve” icon is displayed. During the wave signal recording
the “note” icon is displayed.
Files are saved with names which you can define. If the file mane was not defined the instrument will give the
name to the new automatically created file based on the rule: new file name will be created on the base of
previously saved file name but it’s number will be increased by one. In this case, number is a string of digits in
the end of the name. If the file hasn’t a string of digits the instrument will add “0” in the end of the new file name.
The logger file name (with extension
SVL
), which has been created after the
measurement start is displayed in the left upper part of the screen, below the
icon line.
As you can see, the number of the file at the presented screen is 1 (
L1.SVL
).
After starting new measurement with the
<Start/Stop>
key new file name will
automatically change its number on 2 (
L2.SVL
).
