Error telegram
If the Gateway detects an error, it attempts to transmit an error tele-
gram to the configurated receiver. An error telegram always starts
with »E:«, followed by the error text and a terminating »[LF]«.

To test the function, a ModbusTCP tool such as the freely available
QModMaster is useful (https://sourceforge.net/projects/qmodmaster/),
e.g. on a laptop in the network of the PLC and the Gateway.
The IP address and port of the Gateway must be set in the ModbusTCP
settings. 2000 was selected as the start address in order to read out all
40 possible switches at once. After clicking on the »Connect« and
»Scan« icons (marked in blue), the tool cyclically retrieves the switch
data. The screenshot shows switch 2 as pressed. All other switches
have not been pressed since the Gateway was restarted.
Wireless telegram
The wireless telegram included in the TCP/UDP datagram is transmit-
ted in hexadecimal coding as an ASCII string with a terminating »[LF]«
control character (line feed). In special cases it is possible that one da-
tagram contains several wireless telegrams separated by »[LF]«. This
is possible especially after an ethernet transmission error when at this
particular time of the repeated transmission further wireless tele-
grams have already been received by the Gateway.
