Configuration
The steute ethernet Gateway is provided with a website for the con-
figuration of:
- Network settings and
- Teaching in of wireless switches/transmitters, as well as
- A log window for the logging of active wireless telegrams.
The website can be accessed with any HTML 5-capable
internet browser.
Open website
Before opening the website, it must be guaranteed that the configurat-
ing computer and the wireless Gateway have the same IP address
range. Thus, for the initial installation, a point-to-point connection is
recommended where both participants are in address range:
192.168.0.xxx.
Attention!
Gateway and PC must not have the same IP address!
In order to open the website, enter either
a) the IP address of the wireless Gateway (e.g. http://192.168.0.123)
or
b) the name of the wireless Gateway (http://steuterf/) in the browser.
After entering the address in the browser, the following overview page
appears. It does not require a login.
All wireless sensors that the system detects are displayed on this
page. Active wireless sensors are green. Wireless sensors in radio
communication flash yellow.
The configuration pages can be accessed from here.
When trying to switch to a configuration page, the following
window appears:
The login data are:
Username: steute
Password: steute123
To cancel the authentication without closing the browser: click on
»Logout«. Afterwards, the »Home« page is still accessible. To access
the configuration pages: Enter username and password.
In order to protect the wireless Gateway from illegal access, the pass-
word can be changed. The password is reset by restoring the
device configuration.
Device configuration
In the tab »Device Configuration«, the fixed IP, the sub-network mask
and the Gateway address can be set or the definition of a dynamic IP
via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) can be activated. The
local port number is used as source port for the transmission of UDP
packages. When adopting the new setting using the »Save« button, the
data are saved in the internal EEPROM and a restart of the wireless
Gateway is processed. The assignment of a fixed IP is generally carried
out by the network administrator.
The ModbusTCP interface can be accessed under the port number 502
(standardised, see www.modbus.org). The port number can be
changed. The range of standardised port numbers 0..1023 is
not accepted.
