Theater Setup and
System Security
Overview
Designated users with restricted access to specific options
and adjustments done as part of the normal maintenance of
the system, and to initialization of the Cavity Security
System (CSS) and to generating and managing devices
logs.
Theater Setup
Theater setup functions are related to operations that are
conducted by qualified maintenance personnel on a routine
basis. They are:
• Lamp Replacement (wizard)
The Lamp Replacement Wizard guides you through
the process of entering the 16 digit serial code for the
new Lamp and Resetting the Lamp Timer. Previously,
resetting of the Lamp Timer was found in the
Maintenance functions.
Lamp replacement should only be performed by
knowledgeable personnel. Refer to the Digital Cinema
Projector Service Manual for additional information.
• Lamp Axis Adjustment (wizard)
The Lamp Axis Adjustment Wizard guides you
through the process of adjusting the X, Y, and Z axes
of the new lamp to optimize its location in the
reflector. Previously, Lamp Axis adjustment was
realized by using the use of the SRX Controller
application.
Lamp Axis adjustment should only be performed by
knowledgeable personnel. Refer to the Digital Cinema
Projector Service Manual for additional information.
• Registration Adjustment
The Registration Adjustment screens provide access to
the electrical adjustment to the X and Y position of the
Red, Green and Blue images. Previously, the X/Y
adjustment of the images was realized by using the
SRX Controller application.
• Filter Timer Reset
The quality of the air circulating through the Projector
enclosure is filtered. To insure that the air quality is
maintained, these enclosure filters are periodically
replaced.
System Security
System Security functions allow the user to Initialize
Security of the “Cavity” (enclosure) and to set the system’s
Secure Clock

which governs application of decryption
keys during playback.
The System Security features are designed to insure that
any encrypted content cannot be accessed in an unsecure
manner by making the decryption keys unavailable until
the security has been initialized. In addition it insures that
the content cannot be played on the Auditorium Unit
outside of the date/time limitations placed on the content
by the associated decryption key(s) (KDM) by controlling
the ability to reset the system (secure) clock.
