Notes on System Operation

Notes on System Operation

Starting Each Device

Use the following procedure when starting system operation.

Turn on the network switch, and wait until the network switch is up and running

(see page 20)

The network switch has finished booting when the [MST] status LED is lit solid green.

Turn on the NSM server, and log in to Network System Manager

(see page 26)

Turn on the IP converters. There are no restrictions on the starting order

(see page 30)

Turn on the other target devices for operation.

Check that the number of notifications is zero on the GUI screen of Network System Manager.

Check the following items on the routing screen of Network System Manager.

•

Background color of source device icons is light gray.

•

All name tabs are blue.

Check the following items on the routing screen of Network System Manager.

•

Background color of destination device icons is light gray.

•

Name tabs are blue or light gray.

If there are devices not connected to the network switch, their icons have a light gray background and light gray name
tabs on the routing screen of Network System Manager.
