Internal or external
devices cannot be
accessed, or do not
operate properly.
Check whether the cables are connected correctly.

Check that interface cables and AC power cords are securely connected. Check that the connection
order is correct.
Check whether devices were powered on in the correct order.
t
When external devices are connected, power the external devices on first, then power on the Digital
Media Workstation.
Check whether driver software has been installed.
t
Special device driver software must be installed for some optional devices.
Check whether BIOS settings are correct.
t
When PCI devices are connected, use the Digital Media Workstation BIOS Setup Utility to set the
PCI interrupt and make other detailed settings. PCI devices normally do not require any settings to
be changes, but some boards do require special settings.
t
I/O port addresses and operating mode settings must be made for some devices connected to
serial, parallel, and USB ports.
Setup Utility menu: Advanced > Peripheral Configuration
The keyboard or
mouse do not
operate correctly.
Check whether the cables are connected correctly.

Check that the keyboard and mouse are correctly connected to the connectors on the rear panel of
the Digital Media Workstation.

Except for USB devices, devices must be connected while the Digital Media Workstation power is
off. Power the Digital Media Workstation off and connect the devices again.
Check whether BIOS settings are correct.

You can use the BIOS Setup Utility to change keyboard functions or disable the mouse. Check the
settings in the BIOS Setup Utility.
Setup Utility menu: Advanced > Peripheral Configuration > Mouse,
Advanced > Numlock
Check whether driver software has been installed.

Check whether drivers have been installed for the keyboard and mouse. (Standard drivers are
normally installed when the operating system is installed.) Some operating systems allow you to
change the keyboard and mouse settings.
