Measurement of welding machines

In the test selection menu press

Welding machines

to go to a submenu with welding machine tests.

Tests not described in this chapter are carried out identically to the corresponding manual tests, pre-
sented in

sec. 4

All  welding  measurements
can  also  be  made  with  weld-
ing  cables

– but

only if the

cables are functional

Measurement of R

ISO

(LN-S, PE-S) in welding machines

Tests consist of measuring insulation resistance:



between shorted primary side conductors (L and N) and secondary winding of the welding ma-
chine (R

ISO

LN-S),



between the PE conductor and the secondary winding of the welding machine (R

ISO

PE-S).

NOTE!

For Class I appliances, the measurement only makes sense if:



the R

measurement was positive and



the standard R

ISO

measurement was positive.

Tested appliance must be turned on.

Test circuit is electrically isolated from the mains and from mains' PE lead.



Test result should be read only after displayed values are stabilized.



After the measurement the tested object is automatically discharged.
