1. Keep the boom at the horizontal position
(+/-5°) and outstretch the boom from the
fully retracted position to 1.5m -1.8m.
2. Remove locknuts from the fixing device
of retracting wireropes (as shown in the
figure below).
3. Use torque spanner to apply 112 N·m
torque to adjusting nuts of the two
retracting wireropes alternatively until
the required torque is met.
Note: during adjustment of the wirerope nuts,
the wirerope tail shall be clamped with tools
before adjusting nuts with a spanner.
Tensioning of Outstretching Wireropes
4. Retract the main boom from the
outstretched point in the first step to
0.6-0.9m.
Note: make sure the boom is fully retracted to
facilitate the following operations.
5. Remove locknuts from fixing device of
the outstretching wireropes (as shown in
the figure below).
6. Use torque spanner to apply 112N*m
torque to adjusting nuts of the two
outstretching wireropes alternatively until
the required torque is met.
7. Fully retract the boom assembly and
check whether the dimension of exposed
boom part complies with the tolerance
requirement in “Figure 4-1 Wirerope
Tensioning Drawing”.
8. Reinstall the locknuts onto fixing device
of the outstretching wireropes and apply
the torque of 14 N·m.
9. Reinstall all locknuts onto the adjusting
nuts.
10. Install all covers and check whether all
functions of the main boom assembly are
normal.
Do not check the tensioning of wireropes by
repeating step 2 to step 7 for multiple times.
The wirerope tension check should be based
on whether all functions of the main boom
assembly are normal.
Take repositioning of the second telescopic
arm as an instance:
According to “Figure 4-1 Wirerope
Tensioning Drawing”, if outstretching part of
the second telescopic arm is too short when
the boom assembly is fully retracted, loosen
adjusting nuts of the outstretching wireropes,
then outstretch the main boom assembly from
the fully retracted position to 1.5-1.8m and
repeat tensioning steps of the retracting
wireropes and tensioning steps of the
outstretching wireropes. After above steps are
