INSTALLATION AND PUTTING INTO SERVICE
5.1 INSTALLATION
Mechanical assembly of dismantled machines, con-
nection of the electrical control unit and commissioning
of this machine may only be performed by personnel
authorised by us.
The documents required for installation and commis-
sioning are supplied with the machine. These are:
– Dimensional drawing
– Assembly instructions for incomplete machine
– Electrical connection diagram
– Operating instructions for electrical assemblies
– Operating instructions for strapping head
– Operating instructions for machine.
– Operating instructions for dispenser
The floor at the place of operation must be level so that
the machine feet lie flat. The floor should preferably be
concreted. The machine must be secured in the floor
with heavy duty anchors, so that it cannot be moved. All
anchors should therefore be capable of withstanding an
extraction force of at least 10 kN.
The dispenser must be positioned according to the
dimensional drawing of the machine. The cables are
provided for this layout. The dispenser must be secured
against movement by fixing to the floor.
5.2 POWER SUPPLY
The machine is connected to the local power supp-
ly. The voltage and frequency must correspond with
the values given in the technical data (Chapter 3). In
case of doubt the values of the local supply should be
measured.
The preliminary fusing of the supply must be made in
accordance with the power specified in the technical
data (Chapter 3). The power supply must be made to
terminals L1, L2, L3, N and PE, terminal stem X0.
After connection, the rotational direction of the drive
motor must be checked. If this is wrong, the polarity
must be changed on the power supply line.
5.3 SIGNAL EXCHANGE
Signal exchange with the control system of the con-
veyor unit must be provided in accordance with the
connection diagram specially prepared for this machi-
ne. The data relevant to the signal exchange can be
found on pages 33.0 and 33.5. Further details of signal
exchange are also provided in Chapter 4.2.3.
The following points must be checked before putting
into operation:
1. Door in safety fence
Because the machine must necessarily be fenced,
a door is necessary. The control unit is prepared,
however, so that two door interlock switches can be
connected to the safety relay 32K1. The function of
the interlock switches is monitored every time the
control voltage is switched on and when the door
is actuated. The „Reset“ button must be pressed for
both operations.
2. The resistance between the clamps X201/3 and
X201/6 (door circuit 1) as X201/7 and X201/10
(door circuit 2) at closed safety doors should not
exceed 80 Ohms. If this value is exceeded the func-
tion respectively the acknowledgement of relay
32K1 is not anymore ensured.
3. EMERGENCY-STOP external
If this signal is not used, the relevant contacts must
be bridged, see connection diagram page 33.0.
4. Conveyor not in motion, external
The signal „Conveyor not in motion“ must be con-
nected.
5.4 PUTTING INTO SERVICE
When the machine has been installed and connected
and with the correct strap fitted (in accordance with
Chapter 3.1), the functions which can be performed
manually are tested first (mode of operation „Manual“).
The package is then strapped in „Cycle“ mode. If this
process is successful, automatic strapping is tested
with external signal (mode of operation „Automatic“).
CAUTION
Before switching on the machine the
following electrical tests (VDE 0113/EN
60204) must be performed and recorded:
– through connection of protective con-
ductor system
– insulation test
– tension test
– functional test
CAUTION
For provision of signal exchange the data
in our technical information „Signal ex-
change“ should be taken into account.
WARNING
The machine must not be put into oper-
ation if the safety device is not opera-
ting satisfactorily!
