7.2 FUNCTIONAL CHECKS OF ASSEMBLIES
AFFECTING SAFETY
a) Door interlock switch
– Open door of safety fence.
• It must not be possible for any motor to start.
(Only with the enabling button the motors for a
reset can be started)
• Running motors must be stopped.
• All command buttons are ineffective.
– Close door in safety fence.
• Motors must still not start.
• All command buttons are ineffective.
– Press „ Control system start “ button.
• It must be possible to start motors.
b) EMERGENCY-STOP button
– Press button.
• The button must remain in the locked position.
• All motions must be interrupted. Category 0 stop.
• All command buttons are ineffective.
• The conveyor unit must not run or be possible to
start.
– Unlock button.
• No motions may start automatically.
• All command buttons are ineffective.
• The conveyor unit must not run or be possible
to start.
– Press „
Control system start
“ and the „
Reset
“
button.
• It must be possible to start motors.
c) „Control system start“ button
– Open and reclose door of safety fence with button
pressed, then release button.
• It must not be possible for any motors to start.
• Running motors must be stopped.
• All command buttons are ineffective.
– Press „ Control system start “ and the „ Reset “
button
• It must be possible to start motors.
d) Main switch
– Turn main switch to position „
0
“.
• It must not be possible for any motors to start.
• Running motors must be stopped.
• All command buttons are ineffective.
• The conveyor unit must not run or be possible to
start
e) Strap guide frame
– The strap guide frame is freely suspended. Check-
whether the collision guard is not jammed and the-
proximity switches (collision guard) operate. For this
purpose the main switch must be at position „ 0 “.
7.3 CHECK GUIDE FLAPS
– Check function of all guide flaps on the strap guide.
It must be possible to open and close them easily
and they must not be deformed.
– Broken compression springs must be replaced.
CAUTION
The drives to be checked are situated in
the danger area. Refer to Chapter 6.5
when working in the danger area.
CAUTION
If the functions checked do not operate
satisfactorily, the fault must be found and
eliminated immediately! The machine
must not be operated if the safety devices
do not operate perfectly.
