6.8 CHECK OF SEAL
– Regulary check the seal (see Fig. 6) for its appea-
rance.
The straps must be sealed cleanly to obtain
optimum sealing strength of the strapping. If
the seal is not performed satisfactorily, the welding time
must be adjusted (see operating instructions of strap-
ping machine, password area in HMI).
WARNING
An incorrectly welded strapping cannot
secure the package and can thus lead to
injuries. Never transport or move pa-
ckaged goods with incorrectly welded
seals.

1 Good seal (the complete surface is cleanly welded
without excess material being forced out sideways)
2 Poorly welded seal (not welded over the complete
surface), welding time is too short.
3 Poorly welded seal (excess material is forced out
sideways), welding time is set too long.
The welding time for PET straps is longer than
for PP straps.

6.7.4 INVERTER DRIVE MALFUNCTION
Symptoms
– The carriage (strapping unit) can not moved vertical-
ly. Fault indication is activated.
Causes
– Malfunction on inverter drive.
– Malfunction on vertical drive motor.
Elimination
– Switch off strapping machine and switch on again
(before switching on wait 10 s).
– See fault codes in the operating instructions for the
inverter drive.
– If necessary, release jammed drives.
– Restarting the interrupted automatic sequence.
