ADVIA 1800 Operator’s Guide

 

  CAUTION 

Do not use excessive force while cleaning to avoid bending the mixing rods. 

b.

 

Holding the mixing rods in one hand, wipe each mixing rod with lint-free towels 
moistened with deionized water. 

3.

 

Inspect the mixing wash cups for cleanliness, then clean if dirty:   

a.

 

Pour deionized water into the mixer wash cup.  

  CAUTION  

Do not apply excessive force while cleaning, to avoid damaging the sensor.  

b.

 

With a lint-free paper towel and foam-tipped applicators, clean the mixer wash  
cup. 

4.

 

After cleaning, ensure that no threads or fibers are left on the mixing rods. 

5.

 

Return the analyzer to the READY mode. 

6.

 

Verify that the analyzer mode is READY before performing any further actions. 

NOTE:

 If an overflow error message displays, water is probably on the sensor. Dry the 

sensor. 

To clear the alarm message, on the Operation Panel, select the alarm

 

  icon.

Operator’s Guide. 

Monitoring Reagent Tray Temperature 

NOTE:

 

This procedure adds a mandatory additional step to the daily maintenance 

procedure. The daily Maintenance Log page is updated and available from the online 
Operator’s Guide. 

Complete the following procedure daily to monitor reagent tray temperatures and increase 
reagent stability: 

1.

 

Turn power to the system off. 

2.

 

Open the top cover. 

3.

 

Remove tray covers. 

4.

 

Examine RTT1 and RTT2 to determine if the DI H2O reagent wedges need to be filled 
with water. Fill as needed. 

5.

 

If water was added, replace the reagent tray covers and allow the water temperature to 
stabilize for at least 30 minutes.
