Connection of the sample gas line
Only applies for the analyzer unit types “wall housing” and “19" slide-in enclosure”.
Sample gas inlet
●
The sample gas is drawn in by the installed ejector pump.
●
The screw connection at the sample gas inlet is equipped with a large, specially shaped
cap nut instead of the normal cap nut.
Physical conditions
●
Permissible temperature of the supplied sample gas: 5 ... 200 °C (278 ... 473 K).
●
Permissible sample gas pressure in the measuring system of the EuroFID: ±50 hPa
(±50 mbar) in relation to the ambient pressure.
If the sample gas pressure is more than +50 mbar higher than the ambient
pressure: Install a bypass line (e.g. T-form screw connection) from which the EuroFID
can draw the sample gas.
●
The required sample gas quantity is autonomously drawn in by the EuroFID
(50 … 170 L/h).
Protection against condensation in the sample gas line
Installation of a heated sample gas line
Secure the heated sample gas line so that the sample gas connection on the EuroFID is
not subjected to the weight of the sample gas line.
Always take the lowest permissible curvature radius of the pipe into account (refer to
the technical specifications of the heated sample gas line).
Carefully insulate the connection points with jacketing (e.g. on the gas connection of
the analyzer unit).
Prevent thermal bridges to the sample gas line (e.g. at the securing points).
During calibration it is possible that calibration gas is pressed out of the
sample gas inlet
in the opposite direction to the direction of flow
of the sample
gas supply.
– During zero point calibration:
Operating air
.
– During sensitivity calibration: The
calibration gas
.
NOTICE:
Check whether the sample gas can chemically corrode the internal sample
gas path (list of the materials in contact with the sample gas
).
NOTICE:
No condensation should occur in the sample gas line. Condensation can
corrupt the measurement results. The condensate can obstruct the sample
gas line and the sample gas filter. If the condensate enters the analyzer unit,
the measuring system can be damaged and fail.
If the temperature in the sample gas line could drop below the dewpoint of
the sample gas:
Either: Heat the sample gas line or provide a heat insulation jacket so that
all substances remain gaseous in the sample gas line.
Or: Remove liquids from the sample gas path before the sample gas is
routed to the EuroFID.
