Steps 8 – 12 

 

8. 

Position backshell, with shielding bell inside, 
over screw clamps and thread into 
connector 

9. 

Flare shield then insert seal behind shield 
(cutaway view of backshell on connector). 

10. 

Press shield into backshell, then trim shield 
material flush and insert seal behind shield. 

Note:  Remove shield clippings. 

Note:  Shield should contact backshell and be held 

in place by the seal, but should not cover 
the seal. 

11. 

Slide spacer and clamp into place behind 
seal 

12. 

Thread dome nut onto backshell and 
tighten. 

 

Step 13 

If label is used:  Print adhesive-backed labels with appropriate text.  Install on cable jacket approximately 
as shown below, then cover with clear, heat-shrinkable tubing.
