8-Pin Shielded Serial Communications Connector for Gyro
Control J-Box, Turck 8181-0
Component parts of the 8-pin all-metal shielded connector are identified in the picture above.
Step 1
Identify the components of the Turck CMBS connector and organize the necessary tools.
Notes: The SHIELDING BELL can fit flush inside the BACKSHELL and may be inserted there for the
duration of the connector installation. The INSULATOR is only provided for CMBS series connectors with
a protruding center contact.
Recommended tools:

Cable cutter

Electrician’s knife
•
Wire cutter
•
Wire stripper
•
Ferrule crimper
•
Miniature screwdriver
Step 2
Slide items on cable before beginning termination and connector assembly: clear heat-shrink tubing,
dome nut, clamp, spacer, seal, & backshell. (Shielding bell can be inside backshell.)
Note: Clear heat-shrink tubing is only required if a label is to be applied to the cable.
