Section 2: ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
2. GYRO CONTROL BOX CABLE CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS
a. Some cables come from the factory already connected to the receptacles on the side of
the PCB Gyro Control Junction Box. CABLEs 1, 5, & 8 are customer supplied and
assembled (J10, J8, & J9 respectively).
i. J1: Gyro Upper Instrumentation, CABLE 12 from Gyro sphere.
ii. J2: Brake Valve & Glycol Pump, CABLE 6 (1 ‐ 2 Splitter) from
Gyro rear brace.
NOTE: The gyro is shipped with connector J2 unplugged.
This connector must remain unplugged until the cooling system
has been filled (section 3) to prevent damaging the glycol pump.
iii. J3: Brake Pressure Switches and Solenoid Valves, CABLE 7 (1 ‐ 4
Splitter) from Brake Manifold.
1. Branches TP ‐ 3 & TP ‐ 4 (Black) are equivalent and are
reversible.
2. Branches DTDA ‐ 1 & DTDA ‐ 2 (Yellow) are equivalent and
are reversible
iv. J4: Gimbal Angle, CABLE 15 from Gyro Gimbal Angle Sensor.
v. J5: Not used.
vi. J6: Gyro Lower Instrumentation, CABLE 13 from Gyro sphere.
vii. J7: Drive Control, CABLE 14 from Motor Drive J ‐ Box.
viii. J8: Serial Communications, CABLE 5 (6x20AWG w/ shield, max
OD = 8mm, Customer supplied) from Serial Communications
Breakout Box.
1. Install Seakeeper provided connector P/N: 30076 (Turck
P/N: 8181 ‐ 0) on CABLE 5 using Work Instruction 018.
ix. J9: Switched Outputs, CABLE 8 (4x22AWG w/ shield, max OD
= 8mm, Customer supplied) to Alarm & Monitoring System
and Seawater Pump Control Relay.
1. Install Seakeeper provided connector P/N: 30078
(TurckP/N: 8141 ‐ 0) on CABLE 8 using Work Instruction
019.
