The controller shall switch off the active stages depending on over-temperature in the switch cabinet.  

Solution: 

The  CX  plus  is  equipped  with  a  temperature  sensor  (NTC)  integrated  under  its  housing.  The 
temperature limit for activation of the stage switch off sequence can be set in the alarm system. Hence, 
the stages are protected against overheating and the temperature in the switch cabinet is able to cool 
down to normal operation conditions.  

Procedure: 

 

Set the temperature limit 2 in the SETUP/513. 

Set the temperature limit 2 in the SETUP menu. The temperature limit 1 (SETUP/512) may have to 
be  reduced  because  the  minimum  setting  range  of  the  temperature  limit  2  depends  on  the  set 
temperature limit 1:

Set the time interval for the stage switch-off sequence under SETUP menu 523.  

Function:

 

Upon  exceeding  temperature  limit  2,  a  delay  time  of  10 s  will  expire  first.  Afterwards,  the  message 

thi 

ALARM

 is displayed and the contact of the alarm relay is activated. After the time interval for the 

stage  switch-off  sequence  (SETUP/523)  has  run  out,  the  stage  switch-off  sequence  begins  its 
operation:  The  procedure  switches  off  the  relevant  stage,  which  has  been  activated  at  last  (AUTO, 
FON). As long as the temperature alarm is activated, all active stages (AUTO, FON) are switched off 
one by one in the cycle of the stage switch-off sequence. All stages which are switched off by the alarm 
system are locked for a duration of 30 min. If all active stages have been switched off, the control is 
stopped. 

NOTE: 

The alarm system does not switch off activated stages in manual operation mode. The stage 

switch-off sequence does not start until the MANUAL menu is opened. 

If the ambient temperature in the switch cabinet falls by 5 K below temperature limit 2 which has been 
formerly setup, a still active stage switch-off sequence is cancelled. The control starts again and may 
switch stages on and off again. The stages which have been switched off by the alarm system remain 
locked for the duration of the blocking time and thus are not available for the control in the meantime. 

If the function “Manual reset” (SETUP/501 = NO) is deactivated, the alarm messages (display and alarm 
relay) are automatically reset after 15 s. The alarm relay is only reset, if no further alarm is active. 

NOTE: 

The stage switch-off function in case of TEMP alarm can be deactivated under menu 

“digital 

input alarm

” (SETUP/520 = NO). In case of a TEMP alarm, no activated stages will be switched off.

In case the entire harmonic distortion of voltage (THD-U) or current (THD-I) is exceeded, the controller 
shall protect the active stages by switch-off.
