OFF : Control is OFF and active stages are switched off one by one at 3
second intervals.
Hold : Control is stopped and the active stages remain switched on.
If the control is set to
“OFF”, “PFC” and “OFF” appear alternatingly on the
display.
If the control is set to
“Hold”, “PFC” and “Hold” appear on the display
alternating.
In order to start the control, set the setting to
“ON”.
NOTE : If the stage recognition was switched off and if the current
transformer factor and no stage size has been entered manually yet, the
control is switched off (
“OFF”) and the setting is locked. The setting remains
locked until the current transformer factor is entered once and at least one
stage size is entered manually. Then, the control can be switched on again.

“Control algorithm”.
1 BEST-FIT (AUTO): The controller works according to the
“BEST-FIT”
principle (best result). This means that, before each switching
operation, the controller compares all stage sizes saved in its stage
database with the determined need for reactive power and always
selects the stage which comes closest to the set control target. If the
controller has connected stages of the same size, the number of
switching operations is automatically distributed to these stages either
via the switching cycles or via the operating hours (SETUP/315).

LIFO: “Last IN, First OUT ”: The controller starts with stage 1 and
switches on the stage of the next higher number each time, if
necessary. The stages are switched off in reversed order. It is
checked individually for each stage, if the switching operation is
useful. This may lead to an unprecise compensation in case of stages
of different sizes.
NOTE :
The setting “Lock faulty stages” (SETUP/309) is permanently
activated. Stages, which have been recognized as defective, will be
blocked and therefore skipped by the control algorithm. This function
prevents an oscillating behaviour of the reactive power control system.
NOTE : The stage exchange function and the switching distribution
(switching cycles or operating hours) are always deactivated in case
of stages of the same size.
NOTE : It is not possible to switch the stages manually.
