PFC
Control
ON/OFF/Hold
Starting, stopping and switching off the automatic control. The following
settings are available:
ON:
Control is ON and works in normal operation.
OFF
:
Control is OFF and active stages are switched off one by one at 3
second intervals.
Hold
: Control is stopped and the active stages remain switched on.
If the control is set to
“OFF”, “PFC” and “OFF” appear alternatingly on the
display.
If the control is set to
“Hold”, “PFC” and “Hold” appear alternatingly on the
display.
In order to start the control, set the setting to
“ON”.
NOTE:
If the stage recognition was switched off and if the current
transformer factor and no stage size has been entered manually yet, the
control is switched off (
“OFF”) and the setting is locked. The setting remains
locked until the current transformer factor is entered once and at least one
stage size is entered manually. Then, the control can be switched on again.

The active power factor, which shall be reached by the reactive power
compensation (control target), is determined by setting the target Cos

Switching time
1...6500 s
The switching time refers to the waiting time between switching individual
stages in the normal control algorithm. This value should be adjusted
respectively.
The switching time should be set based on the following aspects:
1. The switching time shall protect the contactors against an
unnecessary amount of switching operations and thus against a too
rapid wear.
2.
The need for reactive power is determined via the switching time.
Fast fluctuations of the reactive power are compensated in the
process.

Switching outputs (stage

The following stage types except for the stage type
“
Flty
” can be set for
each individual stage:
AUTO
= Stage is active and is used by the control.
FON
= Stage is permanently switched on (stage is monitored
nevertheless and is switched off in critical situations).
FOFF
= Stage is permanently switched off / deactivated. Stages
which are not used should be set to this stage type in order to
prevent unnecessary switching operations and alarms.
Flty
= Stage was switched three times without success and
identified as defective. This is not used for the control anymore.
Defective stages are flashing in the stage display.
Stages which are set to the stage type
“
Flty
” can be switched back to the
desired stage type in this menu.
