Adjustable parameters (right side) of the Mach-DSP program
The entire right side of the Mach-DSP program has sliders and other user interface
elements that allow you to control the behavior of the Mach-DSP servo. These controls
are separated into sections on tabs. These tabs separate not only the functions, but
also the user experience level expected to use the controls. The tabs are described
more below.
The
Basic
tab includes the tuning controls that are typically found on most servo drivers
on the market. These include Input Scale and Input Offset, Servo Gain, Damping, and
Integrator settings. Many users have experience with adjusting controls of this nature,
and so they are put on this first, and most basic tab.
The
Intermediate
tab includes controls expected to be used by intermediate-level
users. These include Slew Rate Limiter parameters, as well as some filter parameters.
The
Advanced
tab includes controls expected to be used only by the most advanced
users, and indeed, these controls should only be used when setting up a brand new
scanner on the Mach-DSP servo.
The
Control
tab includes user interface elements that are used to specify how the TTL
Inputs and TTL Outputs behave.
The
Pangolin Only
tab includes controls that are related to the Mach-DSP servo itself,
and have to do with the calibration and customization of the Mach-DSP for particular
applications. Adjustment to these parameters should only be done with the supervision
and assistance of Pangolin.
Specifying which axis is affected by controls on the tabs
It is important to understand that the axis being adjusted is signified by the X, Y, and XY
buttons found on the toolbar. Indeed, these buttons are located immediately above the
control parameters to help reinforce that these buttons apply to Control Parameters.
