Menus, toolbar, status area, and control parameters
The Mach-DSP program is divided into several different sections, with each section
providing a specific function. The sections are described below.
Menus and toolbar (top portion) of the Mach-DSP program
Along the top of the Mach-DSP program you will find various menus and a toolbar. The
toolbar allows for quick access to the built-in Oscilloscope, quick access to the Test
Signal Generator, and (if you are in “Expert mode”) access to buttons that allow you to
select whether you are tuning only the X-axis, only the Y-axis, or both X and Y axis at
the same time.
Status area (left side) of the Mach-DSP program
The entire left side of the Mach-DSP program shows status information, including
information about the firmware loaded on the Mach-DSP servo driver and its serial
number, along with the external and internal power supply voltages and even the
temperature of the Mach-DSP servo driver board itself. This information could be
important for troubleshooting.
Note that the values expressing power supply currents (i.e. the “@1.25 amps”) and total
power consumption (i.e. the “58.2 watts”) shown next to the Positive Supply and
Negative Supply voltages are estimates based on the known quiescent current
behaviors of the Mach-DSP along with the measured coil currents flowing through each
scanner. Nevertheless, although these are only estimates, the values reported should
be good enough for gauging power consumption, and thus power supply requirements.
