15. Value of cover page thickness
The thickness of the cover can be adjusted here. By increasing the value, the
gap between the spine of the book block and the steel plate of the binding
unit can be increased. We can use this adjustment possibility to increase the
thickness of the glue and cover sheet.
If „Communication error” message appears on the display during
changing of any parameter repeat the entry of the data.
NOTICE!
It is strictly prohibited to mill already glued book spine, this leads to the
immediate failure of the milling unit.
16. Value of the milling height
The milling height can be defined here. The following values can be given:
- 0: it means that the starting steel plate’s level is over the slitting knife’s
highest level. No slitting and no milling operation will be performed.
- 0 – 10 (0 to 1 mm): Only slitting operation will be performed. The depth of the
slitting is depending on the value.
- 10 – 40 (1 – 4 mm): Slitting and milling operation will be performed.
Attention! In case of milling the slitting and/or milling the milling
motor has to be turned on.
As long as the machine performs the setting of the
milling height “Starting plate set.!” text can be read on
the display.
The speed of the carriage clamp is determined automatically by the thickness of the
book block and the milling height setted. The speed will increase if the book block is
thinner
or the milling height is smaller.
17. Toggle milling ON-OFF
The pressing of this icon starts and stops the milling unit. The possible values
