We put a safety sensor to know if the cover is picked up or not. If
yes, cover feeding is executed. This sensor is covered by a metal
plate. When the suction arm picks the cover up, the cover
moves this plate up also, and in this case the cover is
transported over the binding unit.
5.8.1. Cover feeder unit vacuum and air blasting
controllers
Two controllers can be found on the right side of the machine under
the cover feeder table. From them the left one is responsible for air
blasting i.e. airing in order to separate the cover sheets better. To
increase the volume of the blasted air the regulater has to be turned
counterclockwise. To decrease the volume of the air it has to be
turned to the opposite direction i.e. clockwise.
The right side regulator is responsible for regulating the vacuum during cover
feeding. The principle of the regulation is the same as the airing regulator i.e. to
increase the vacuum the controller has to be turned counterclockwise. The vacuum
decreases if the regulator is turned clockwise.
5. 9. Cover page table
The feeding of the coverpage into the machine happens
here. It is also automatic unit, the table goes down to
initial position in case of runing out of cover page. Take
care to the sensor microswitches, the perception of the
amount of the cover will not be exact in case of the
excursion of these. DO NOT refill the table during
movement.
There are six cover page positioning bumbers in the cover holder table which can be
adjusted freely according to the cover size.
In the cover holder table we built a sensor to check if there is cover on the table or
not.
When there is no any cover on the table, it goes down
automatically.
Since the machine has automatic book thickness measuring function and depending
on that if this function is turned ON/OFF; when refilling the covers on the cover
holder table the operator must pay attention to the followings:
