5. 6. Glue tank unit
This unit applies the glue on
the spine of the document.
There are three rollers in the
pot, two for apply the glue
and one for pull off and align
the glue.
The height of the roller which
pulls off the glue can be
changed depending on how
much glue we want to apply
on the spine. This is adjusted
by the producer. Two
sideglueing wheels take care
of the perfect side glueing.
The distance of these has to
be adjusted to the document
we want to bind. This
operation can be
automatically and manually.
The automatic adjustment can
be done in the SETUP menu.
You can find the description about it in the section of The working and actuation of
the machine in the chapter 8. 5. Measuring of the thicknes of the book. The manual
adjustment can be done in the SETUP menu as well. We can use this for correction if
the side gluing does not seem to be suitable.
Necessary condition of perfect working of the machine is the proper quantiy of glue
in the glue tank. The level indicators which can be found in the pot allow checking its
quantity.
Attention! Little glue quantity can damage severely the glue tank because the
glue has greasing function as well.
The glue fume exhaust, which is located on the top of the
machine has to be connected to an extractor hose to extract
the fumes out of the room. In case the extraction volume is
not sufficient, then the customer has to build a sufficient
system for its own costs.
