Files may be downloaded from and uploaded to the
Linx DVI Matrix Switcher
using File Transfer
Protocol (FTP) via connection through the Ethernet port.
7.1.1
Uploading a File to the Linx Switcher
Files that may be uploaded to the Linx Switcher include previously saved system settings,
presets, EDID information, and firmware.
In the steps below, an FTP session is illustrated using the Explorer under Windows Vista.
While the procedure is similar under other operating systems, the appearance of windows
may vary.
1.
Open the Windows Explorer (start
My Computer
).
2.
In the address bar, enter the ftp command:
ftp://rgb:[email protected]
where nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn is the IP address of the Linx switcher. (
rgb
is the logon name
and
spectrum
is the password.) The example in
Figure 7-1
uses the address
192.168.35.197.

7.1 Transferring Files
Note
The FTP client should be in ASCII mode to transfer text files and in binary mode to
transfer firmware. The mode does not have to be set when transferring files using
Windows Explorer.
