Connection of the
Linx DVI Switcher
via the Ethernet port requires it to have a unique, static IP
address. The factory default IP address is
192.168.1.200.
Consult the network administrator to
obtain a valid IP address before commencing the network setup.
To use the
Linx DVI Switcher
on a Local Area Network (LAN), change the unit’s IP address before
putting it on the network. This s potential conflicts between
Linx DVI Switcher
’s default IP address
and the network. See
Changing the Linx Switcher IP Address
for instructions.
Tera Term supports Telnet operation. Use the following procedure to set up communications with the
Linx DVI Matrix Switcher
through the Ethernet port using Tera Term.

Connect the
Linx DVI Matrix Switcher
Ethernet port to the network using a standard Ethernet
cable.
OR
■
Connect the
Linx DVI Matrix Switcher
Ethernet port directly to the control device using an
Ethernet crossover cable or an Ethernet hub with a standard cable.

Open a Tera Term session

TCP/IP
and enter the IP address of the
Linx DVI Matrix Switcher

Telnet Service

Enter
8000
for the
Linx DVI Matrix Switcher
port number.

OK
. The terminal window will open displaying the
Linx
name, copyright date, and a
prompt.
