Rear Panel Description
Features on the rear of the
Linx 1600
include the input and output modules, power supply, AC
connector, power switch, a 100/1000 BASE-T connector for control over Ethernet, and an
RS-232 port for serial control.
Input and output modules are keyed to prevent insertion into an incorrect slot. Each I/O card
is secured to the chassis with two screws. Each I/O connector has two capture-nuts to
secure signal cables.
All system connections are made to the rear panel. See
Chapter 8
for details on connectors
and pin-outs.

I N P U T S
Input modules are inserted on the left side of the unit as viewed from the rear. Each
input module supports two DVI inputs. Note the numbering of the ports on each module:
upper connectors are odd numbered; lower connectors are even numbered.
O U T P U T S
Output modules are inserted on the right side of the unit as viewed from the rear. Each
output module supports two DVI outputs. Note the numbering of the ports on the
modules: upper connectors are odd numbered; lower connectors are even numbered.
CAUTION
It is not necessary to have all input slots populated with modules. But if a slot has no
module, a blank plate must be installed.
The AC power must be off before removing or installing an input module.
