5 Transport without tractor
5.1 General safety instructions
Read the following instructions before transporting the single-disc spreader:

The spreader may only be transported without the tractor if the hopper is empty.

The operation may only be carried out by suitable, trained and expressly au-
thorised personnel.

Suitable means of transportation and lifting equipment (e.g. crane, forklift
truck, lifting tackle ...) must be used for transport purposes.

Determine the transport route in good time, and remove possible obstacles.

Make sure that all safety and transport devices are in good working order.

All danger areas are to be appropriately secured, even if these only exist
short-term.

The person responsible for transport must ensure that the spreader will be
transported correctly.

Unauthorised persons are to be kept away from the transport route. The are-
as concerned must be cordoned off.

The spreader must be handled and transported carefully.

Make sure that allowance is made for the centre of gravity. If necessary, ad-
just the lifting tackle so that the machine is correctly suspended.

Transport the spreader to the final destination as close to the ground as pos-
sible.
5.2 Loading and unloading, parking
1. Determine the weight of the spreader.
Details are provided on the nameplate.
If applicable, also note the weight of possible accessories and attachments.
2. Lift the spreader carefully using suitable lifting means.
3. Carefully lower the spreader onto the load platform of the transport vehicle or
onto a firm surface or the ground.
