8.8 Discharging residual material
In order to retain the value of your spreader and its spreading performance, we
recommend emptying the hopper immediately after each use.
1. Disengage the PTO drive and switch off the tractor's engine.
2. Place a sheet under the spreader to catch the spreading material or place an
adequately sized container under the outlet.
3. Lower the spreading width limiter completely.
4. Fully open the metering slider.
5. Start the tractor engine, engage the PTO drive, and empty the hopper until no
more spreading material comes out.
6. Switch off the tractor engine, and disengage the PTO drive. Remove the ig-
nition key from the tractor.
7. With the metering slider open, move the drop point backwards and forwards
until the last residues of the spreading material fall out.

WARNING
Crushing and severing hazard in the vicinity of the applica-
tion rate setting device.
When releasing the setscrew on the application rate end stop, the
slider lever can move unexpectedly and suddenly to the end of the
guide slot and can cause severe injury to the fingers.
 Only release the setscrew of the application rate end stop
when the metering slider is closed.
 Never put your fingers in the guide slot of the application
rate setting device.
 If the spreader is parked on its own (without tractor), fully
open the metering slider. Hydraulic cylinder is at the end
stop, return spring still under tension.

WARNING
Risk of injury from rotating machine parts and spreading ma-
terial.
Contact with rotating machine components (universal drive shaft,
spreading disc) may cause bruises, abrasions and crushing inju-
ries. Body parts or objects may be caught and pulled in.
Ejected spreading material can cause injury.
 Keep clear of rotating machine parts while the machine is
running.
 Direct all persons out of the danger zone of the spreader
before emptying the residual material.
