7.2 Errors displayed in the QIAsoft M
software
7.2.1 Recording an error
If the QIAsoft M software displays an error dialog box during
a protocol run, write down the message and the error code.
Refer to “Common error codes” (page 7-8) and follow the
instructions for your error code.
If the error dialog box allows you to continue the protocol
run:
1. Open the workstation door and check for anything that
may be blocking movement of the pipettor head.
If the door does not automatically unlock, select “Manual
Operation/Unlock Door”.
2. Click the appropriate button in the error dialog box to try
to continue the protocol run.
If you cannot resolve an error with a continue option, or if the
error dialog box does not have a continue option:
1. Click the QIAsoft M BIOS button in the Windows taskbar.
The error log window appears and displays a list of error
log codes (page 7-3).
2. Select “File/System Log” to display the system log
window.
3. Highlight the text in this window and press Ctrl + C on
the keyboard to copy it.
4. Open Microsoft Notepad, select “Edit/Paste” to paste the
text, and save the file.
5. Make a backup of the following file:
C:\Program Files\GenoM-48\Tmp\bbios.log
It is recommended that you rename this backup as:
bbiosyymmdd.log
where yy is the year, mm is the month, and dd is the day.
