3. With the stabilizers in place, position
the strake and tape the lower edge to
the fuse. Make sure the front of the
strake is positioned where you want it
and tape it down too.
4. You will want to take your time when
you do this next step. Begin to apply
CA near the stabilizer, but just do a few
inches. Make sure the high point of the
strake is near the center of the stab’s
LE. Apply pressure at the edge of the
stake where you just applied CA so that
it is flush against the fuse (a short
straight edge works well). If any glue
seeps out, wipe it away (use an
applicator tip to minimize glue seepage).
To speed up this process, you can apply
CA accelerator, if desired. After this first
application of CA is done you can apply
CA in longer sections (6” or so) and then
repeat the edge pressure technique.
5. Once the top edge is completed, flip
the fuse over (so glue does not seep
down the fuse sides) and repeat the
process on the strake’s lower edge.
When gluing down the aft few inches
make a final check that the strake is
centered on the stab’s LE.
Dorsal Fin:
1. Mark and then trim the lower edges
of the dorsal fin as you did with the
strakes (about a 1/8” wide flange).
Leave the TE of the dorsal fin as long as
possible.
2. Mark and trim away the fin area as
shown.
3. Draw a centerline on the turtle deck.
Use the rivet pattern as a guide. The LE
of the fin is slightly offset from center
(about 1 degree to the left). With the
dorsal fin positioned against the fin, the
