15. Temporarily tape the LE skin over
the stab’s LE. Draw a line on the LE
skin about ¼” aft of where the top and
bottom skins end as you want the LE
skin to overlap the underlying skins.

16. To trim the LE skins along these
lines, we recommend you tape the skin
to the edge of the work table then tape
your straight edge down and trim the
line with an X-acto knife. If you feel you

can cut straight with scissors you can
alternatively do that.

17. Peel back the protective film from
the stab’s top and bottom and remove
the LE skin’s film. Sand the area of the
top and bottom skins that will mate with
the LE skin. Sand the entire inside of
the LE skin.

18. Optional: apply a small bead of
adhesive to the LE of the stab.
Carefully place the LE skin over the
bead and press it down close to the
stab. Adding the adhesive as noted
above and shown below increases the
resilience of the LE, however, it is not
critical for adhering the LE skin as the
CA at its edges is more than adequate –
therefore this is optional.

Tape the LE skin down with even
pressure. Try to avoid pressing down
so much that the LE skin curls at its
edges. Don’t worry about gluing the
edges now. Try not to let the adhesive
seep too close to, or out of the edge of
the LE skin as this will cause the edges
to lift away from the stab’s skins. Let
the LE cure for 24 hours. Repeat the LE
skin process for the other stab, if used.
