beyond the tabs. Test fit the templates
in the slots then cut them from 1/32”
brass or similar metal.

18. Tape the door to the cowl (with
adequate gaps from the cowl). Insert
the brass hinges into the door’s slots
and draw a final shape to the hinge.
Also mark the hinge piece where it
needs to be folded at the door’s inside
surface – this will be its base. Cut or file
the hinge to shape then drill some holes

in the portion that will get bent. Bend
the hinge at the fold line you drew and
adjust the base angle as needed so it
mates flush with the inside door surface.

19. Insert the hinges and clamp the
ends to the tabs so they are centered at
the tab’s bolt holes. Flip the cowl over
so you can add CA under the hinge
base. Press the base against the door
while ensuring the forward extensions
are still centered with the tab holes.

20. Once cured, mark the hinges for
drill holes to match the tabs. Take care
to drill the holes precisely where needed
otherwise the door’s gaps could be
affected. You can bend the tabs slightly
if needed to make slight adjustments.
Use 2-56 bolts and nylon insert nuts to
fasten the hinge assembly.
