f Do not wash your Porsche in direct sunlight or
when its body is hot.
f When washing by hand, use plenty of water, a
soft sponge or washing brush and a car
shampoo.
We recommend Porsche car shampoo.
f
Begin washing the vehicle by thoroughly
wetting the paintwork and rinsing the heavy
dirt off.
f After washing the vehicle, rinse it thoroughly
with water and leather it dry.
Do not use the same leather to rub down as
you use for cleaning the windscreen and
windows.
Reduced or uneven braking action may be caused
by wet brakes.
f After washing the vehicle, test the brakes and
briefly brake the discs dry.
When doing so, make sure that following
traffic is not affected.
Car washes
Optional add-on parts or parts which project
beyond the contours of the vehicle may be
damaged by design features of car washes.
The following parts are particularly
susceptible to damage:
– Convertible top (hot wax treatment must not
be used, as the wax attacks the convertible
top material)
– External antenna (always unscrew)
– Windscreen wipers (always switch them off
to prevent them wiping unintentionally in inter-
mittent or sensor operation)
– Roof Transport System (always remove
completely)
– Fixed rear spoiler or extended rear spoiler
– Wheels (the wider the rim and the lower the
tyre height, the greater the risk of damage)
– High-gloss wheels (to prevent these from
getting scratched, do not clean with the wheel-
cleaning brushes of the car wash)
f Please consult the operator before using
automatic car washes.
f Wash and leather by hand all points not
reached by a car wash, such as door and lid
seams or door sills.
Convertible Top
The useful life and appearance of the convertible
top depend largely on expert care and operation.
Unskilful care and operation can damage the
convertible top or make it leak.
Never remove snow and ice with sharp-edged
objects.
Cleaning the convertible top
Caution!
Risk of damage due to the cleaning jet of the
high-pressure cleaning equipment or hot wax
treatment.
f Do not clean the convertible top with high-
pressure cleaning equipment.
f
No hot wax treatment.
Do not wash the convertible top every time you
wash the car.
Normally, rinsing the convertible top with clean
water is sufficient.
f Brush dust off the convertible top in the
direction of the weave using a soft brush.
