Conditions for operating the
convertible top
With the rocker switch
– The ignition must be switched on
(engine running or switched off),
– The engine compartment lid must be closed,
– Maximum speed up to approx. 50 km/h
(30 mph).
Opening/closing of the convertible top will be
interrupted if the maximum speed is
exceeded.
With the remote control
– The engine compartment lid must be closed.
Opening the convertible top
Warning!
Danger of injury and damage.
f When opening the convertible top, make sure
that nobody is at risk of injury from the convert-
ible-top mechanism or the lid of the convert-
ible-top compartment.
f
Before opening the convertible top, ensure
that there are no objects in the area behind the
rear seats.
f
Do not operate the convertible top with the
remote control if the vehicle is out of your
sight.
f In order to interrupt convertible-top operation
in the event of danger, immediately release the
switch or remote control.
f
Please observe the chapter “WARNINGS ON
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE ON-
BOARD COMPUTER” on page 106.

f Pull and hold up the switch until the convertible
top has reached its final position or until the
door windows are in their desired position.
The message on the on-board computer goes
out.
In case of danger, release the switch.
Convertible top operation stops.
Opening convertible top with remote control
(depending on country-specific vehicle
equipment)
f Unlock the vehicle.
Keep the convertible-top button on the remote
control depressed until the convertible top has
reached its final position or until the door
windows are in the desired position.
In case of danger, release the switch.
Convertible top operation stops.
f Re-lock the vehicle if necessary.
