If the convertible top does not lock in the
windscreen frame:
f
Open the convertible top again, start the
engine and close the convertible top using the
rocker switch.
Assist with the closing process by grasping the
convertible top by the handhold and pulling it
toward the windscreen frame ( arrow ).
Messages on on-board computer
If the engine compartment lid is open when the
convertible top is activated, a message appears
on the on-board computer. The convertible top
cannot be opened.

Close engine compartment lid.
f Please observe the chapter “WARNINGS ON
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE ON-
BOARD COMPUTER” on page 106.
Emergency operation of the convertible
top
f Before carrying out emergency operation of
the top, please check the following:
Was the ignition switched on and was the
engine compartment lid closed during opera-
tion of the convertible top with the rocker
switch?
Are any of the electrical fuses defective?
f
Please observe the chapter “ELECTRICAL
SYSTEM” on page 210.
Warning!
Risk of injury and risk of damage during
emergency operation.
There is a risk of crushing or pinching from
all moving convertible-top parts.
f Always carry out emergency operation of the
convertible top with the greatest care.
f
Do not activate the convertible top during
emergency operation.
Before emergency operation:
f Remove the ignition key so that the convertible
top is not activated unintentionally.
f
Take the screwdriver out of the tool kit.
Please observe the chapter “LUGGAGE
COMPARTMENT” on page 134.
f Fold the rear seat backrests forward.
