HEADPHONES
Connect stereo headphones to the HEADPHONES
jack to monitor the sound during recording and
playback. Use the headphone volume control knob to
adjust headphone volume.
Use setup menu No. 712 (MONI OUT) to determine
whether or not MON L/R output connector output
should be controlled by this knob.

AUDIO MON SEL MIX button
Switches audio mix signal output by the MON L/R
connectors.
Hold down this button and press the AUDIO MON SEL
L button to switch signals output from the MON L
connector as follows: [CH1 + CH2]

[CH3 + CH4]
➝
[CH5 + CH6]
➝
[CH7 + CH8]
➝
[Mix cancelled].
Use the AUDIO MON SEL R button to switch the mixed
signals output by the MON R connector.

AUDIO MON SEL L/R buttons
Switches the audio signals that are output to the MON
L/R connectors. Each press of the button switches the
signals output to the MON L/R connectors as
described below.
The L/R lamps in the audio level meter indicate which
signal is selected. Steady L/R light indicates that
channels specified in Menu No.767 (METER SELECT)
are selected. Flashing L/R light indicates that channels
not specified in Menu No.767 (METER SELECT) are
selected.

METER FULL/FINE selector button
Switches the scale of the audio level meter.

VIDEO IN (SHIFT + EDIT MODE) / AUDIO IN
(SHIFT + VIDEO) buttons
Switch between video and audio input signals.

NOTE:
• The selected input item blinks when there is no input signal.
• Press the input signal selection button once to show the
current setting. When you do not want to change the
setting, press the EXIT button or wait for 3 seconds to allow
the display of the current setting to vanish.

Audio level controls
Use these controls to adjust the recording and
playback levels of audio signals (CH1/CH2/CH3/CH4/
CH5/CH6/CH7/CH8).

Use setup menu No. 776 (REF
LEVEL) to set the reference level.
VIDEO IN:
Press the VIDEO IN (SHIFT + EDIT
MODE) button to open a screen for
selecting input signal. Pressing the
button when the screen is open enables
selection of CMPST, HDSDI, SD SDI,
1394 or SG input. When SG is selected,
the signal switches to the internal signal
selected in setup menu No. 601 (VIDEO
INT SG).
Selecting composite or SD SDI when
setup menu No. 020 (SYS FORMAT) is
set to 1080i or 720p automatically up-
converts SD to HD when recording. The
unit indicates this as CMPST (U/C) and
SDSDI (U/C).
AUDIO IN:
Press the AUDIO IN (SHIFT + VIDEO)
button to open a screen for selecting
input signal. Pressing the button when
the screen is open enables selection of
ANALOG, AES/EBU, SDI or SG input.
REC:
Audio level controls are used for adjusting
recording level.
UNITY:
Records and plays back audio signals at a
fixed level regardless of the positions of
the audio level controls.
PB:
Audio level controls are used for
controlling playback level.
