Installing a disk in a disk shelf

Installing a disk

To install a disk in a disk shelf, complete the following steps.

Step

Action

1

Put on the antistatic wrist strap and grounding leash.

2

Orient the disk drive carrier so that the cam mechanism is at the top 
and the “press” release bar is on the bottom.

Caution

When inserting a disk drive carrier into an R100 disk shelf, the drive 
carrier handle should be fully extended to its release position before 
insertion, as shown in the following illustration. Failure to do this 
might result in damage to the disk drive carrier locking mechanism.
