Replacing the chassis fan subassembly

Installing a chassis
fan subassembly

To install a chassis fan subassembly, complete the following steps.

Pull the bezel straight off the front panel of the chassis by using the
grooves on the left and right edges of the bezel.

Loosen the thumbscrews on the chassis fan subassembly that failed.

Note

The thumbscrews are torqued at the factory. You need to use a #2
Phillips screwdriver to loosen the thumbscrews.

Using the handle, pull the chassis fan subassembly straight out of the
chassis frame.

Note

The chassis reports a failure for the removed fan assembly.

Set the chassis fan subassembly aside.
