Replacing the CompactFlash card reader subassembly consists of the following
procedures:

Removing the card
reader
subassembly

To remove the CompactFlash card reader subassembly, complete the following
steps.

Step

Action

Shut down the chassis by entering the following command at the
console:

halt

Caution

Always use the

halt

command to perform a clean shutdown of the

chassis. If you do not perform a clean shutdown before removing the
CompactFlash card, your system panics.

Turn off and disconnect the power to the chassis.

Put on the antistatic wrist strap and attach the grounding leash to the
chassis frame.

Remove the CompactFlash card by following Steps 3 through 5 of
the procedure described in “

Removing a CompactFlash card

” on

page 123.
